We’re excited to share that Congress Heights Arts and Culture Center (CHACC) has been selected to participate in Giant Food’s Community Bag Program! For every $2.75 reusable Community Bag purchased at Giant Food, $1 will be donated directly to CHACC — no extra cost to you.
Your everyday shopping can help fuel our mission of uplifting arts, culture, and community East of the River. Together, we’re reducing single-use waste and investing back into local creativity.
Grab a bag. Support CHACC. Build community.

Meet the Artists of the DC Art Bag:
International artist Sara Conedera from France and Emmy-winning Haitian-American artist Doudgy “Dew” Charmant, based in Washington, D.C., have built a strong creative partnership over the years—working together on exhibitions, murals, and now a new project that unites art with sustainability.
The two artists collaborated on a beautiful design for Giant Food’s reusable bag initiative, blending cultural storytelling and vibrant imagery. This project supports Giant Food’s mission to reduce plastic waste while also uplifting the community.
For the month of September 2025, proceeds directly support us here at Congress Heights Arts and Culture Center, making it not only a tool for sustainable living but also a symbol of giving back. Support the arts, the environment and help fund meaningful community causes.
